The purpose of the revision of the four apartments at the Hotel Washington in the beautiful surroundings of the Vittoriale, was to make anonymous and inappropriate spaces accessible to visitors from all over the world and to bring the public closer to the immense cultural heritage and personality of Gabriele D'Annunzio.
The study of four units, each one associated with an element, Water, Earth, Fire, Air and Time, should aim to stimulate intense feelings among visitors, first of all astonishment. Here are then the four apartments, with a totally different furniture styles, characterized, however, by the common desire to deeply impress and to stimulate the five senses: sight, touch, hearing, smell, taste. All the senses that D’Annunzio loved to exalt and exaggerate in his life experiences.
